Good Laptop from Staples for <$500?

I have a $300 gift card for Staples that was acquired over the holiday season. I need a new laptop primarily for Rosetta Stone, Microsoft Office, and web surfing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is a good purchase?

I've never shopped for laptops from Staples as I haven't seen competitive pricing from them in the past. But, I want to get rid of this gift card.

could use this, need to get my submissive a laptop. turns out chromebook is a pos for school. also have many staples gift card.

I personally like Lenovo or Acer laptops. I don't know what deals your local staples may have, but those are two name brands I always gravitate towards.
