alaska airlines award 25K HKG-North America

I just noticed that Alaska Airlines' booking engine prices HKG as if it is part of Japan/Korea rather than China in its American Airlines awards, thereby giving a discount compared to what the award would cost if booked using AA miles. This means that, in coach, it's 25K one-way AS miles between HKG and North America October-April, and 32.5K the rest of the year. Business/First class are similarly priced as if they are Japan/Korea (i.e., in AAdvantage's Asia 1 zone), rather than in the more expensive China (i.e, AAdvantage's Asia 2 zone). So, you could snag a first class seat on the new 77w from DFW-HKG for just 62.5K AS miles (5 seats in F are currently available on Aug. 4, for example).

I assume this is due to the HKG flight being relatively new for AA, and that AS will eventually adjust its pricing to match AA's, but for now, hopefully this will prove useful to someone.

For reference, AS's award chart (which doesn't list HKG):
