Just got this e-mail from United. These were Award Tickets booked on an AC Codeshare. I noticed that it did issue new eTicket Numbers, but all my Confirmation Numbers and Seat Assignments were left in tact.
We identified that the tickets for (<Names Removed>) are eligible for a refund of the Air Passenger Duty (APD) tax. This is a result of a tax exempt measure enacted by the government of the United Kingdom for passengers age 11 and under traveling in Economy class on/after May 1, 2015.
We are in the process of refunding ($20.80 per child) to the original form-of-payment. The refund should be processed within 7 – 10 business days.
