I decided it was important to revisit my goals in life and form a Life Statement. I discussed what I felt was important about this concept in this post and the natural next step is for me to write down my Life Statement, firm up the goals to achieving it and make sure that I am on plan to reach it. This lifestyle goal is a 10 year plan, by which time I hope to have peaked in terms of hitting critical mass for Passive Income.
My Life Statement
- Financial Goal – Owning Investment Property; a Primary Residence; and a Secondary Residence overseas. The ability to travel on exotic international vacations 4 times per year, of at least 1 week per trip, and 8 more times for shorter trips of 3-4 days. Having a positive cash flow from Passive Income vehicles that would support the Property and Travel.
- Family Goal – Patriarchal position as a leader and mentor, able to support the education of my children including College of their choice, later supporting with loans to assist home ownership and asset acquisition without creating dependency.
- Personal Goal – Achieve Renzo Gracie Black Belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu; Climb Everest Base Camp; Achieve Dive Master Certification
- Altruistic Goal – Support Local Community both financially and by physical volunteer efforts; Support wider National Community on Charitable Financial Basis; Support International Community on Charitable Financial Basis.
I plan to break down all of these into achievable monthly goals for saving and investing, to create a plan that I can track and realize! Also, I think simply by vocalizing I will have the ability to reflect and refine this plan, so will revisit periodically to make sure not only that I am on track for it, but that the track is the one I really want. Have you formed a life statement, or something like this?
