Hello!
In case you’ve happened upon this blog through my interview with Daraius at Million Mile Secrets, I just wanted to put together a few links from some of my favorite posts. Hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did writing them!
My first ever series of post on my education as a points freak.
Our last trip before Baby M was born to Shireland (Ireland).
My basic Credit Card Application Strategy series.
Some real life award bookings to Taiwan and New Zealand.
I’m also currently in the process of putting together a DIY guide for award booking.
And here are some baby-related travel posts:
Our first ever trip report with Baby M.
Our summer trip to Italy.
Our experience getting an infant passport.
Oh, and Alitalia can be super frustrating for premium cabin infant travel (slightly outdated, but the principles still hold true I hear).
Anyway, thanks again for wandering over to my blog and happy travels!

Hello Joe, Thanks for doing the interview with Darius. I really like the perspective you’re coming from. I have two young kids and both my wife and I love to travel. I hope to find more realistic CC strategy information on your site. We are relatively new home buyers (almost 10 months now) and we haven’t done a cc signup since then. I feel like I need a coach to get me back in line and make sure I won’t mess anything up. We’ve never had any issues but the burden of a home seems heavy (probably more than it really is…)
My wife and I also traveled to Alsace. We stayed in an old castle in Kaysersburg. Did you guys make it to the monkeys in the mountains??? I remember the abundance of chocolate, cherries and delicious wine!
Cheers!!

Hey Ore, thanks for the kind words! And congrats on the new home. Now you can get back to playing games like applying for credit cards 🙂 I’m sure you won’t mess anything up, just set goals for what you’d like to do and work from there. We did not see any monkeys in the mountains, although it was winter then. Now I feel like we missed out! We stayed in this old monastery, Mont Saint Odile it was beautiful. It was also funny when we asked them for an address and they told us “Mont Saint Odile”.

Joe – do you have a template of the excel sheet you use? Could you email something to me? I’m looking for a tool to get organized before we start again. Any help is appreciated. Cheers!

Hi, Joe. I read your interview with Darius, which left me feeling kinda like I knew you. Followed the link to your blog, which I’m enjoying reading. I’m at a different phase of life (approaching retirement) and just dipping my toe into the rewards card game. I already know most of what’s in your intro blog, but I like reading your take on it. You’re a great explainer. I’m still trying to find the right balance between cash back and points-chasing, and I find it very helpful to see how other people got into this hobby and how they find their own balance.
p.s. And your daughter is ADORABLE!
