Hello! Just wanted to inform people that Hertz is offering rentals for $15/day (compact car) on weekends through June 15th. You can read about the details from Deals We Like here. The short version is, use RQ code FRDM and any rental between Thursday and Monday at noon is $15/day. Outside of those dates it’s the regular rates but you can combine everything into one reservation. Unlike the recent Avis deal, this one is offered to all (and requires no gaming) and of course you can always say “pay later” and not risk anything. I just booked a car for one day for my upcoming trip to Las Vegas, should come in handy for getting off the strip. Enjoy!
2012 Year in Review
2012 is over so I decided to reflect on my travels for the year. I was a bit shocked to find out I flew over 48,000 miles this year, visiting three continents in the process. I also got to fly international first class for the first time ever, which was a real treat! All this was possible due to stepping up my credit card sign up bonus game to the tune of over 300,000 miles for the year. It’s been a great year, and we might not to get to travel as much next year, so I just wanted to post some pictures for my own remembrance and for posterity.
Going to Ireland!
I’ve been itching to take one more international trip in 2012. After a lot of begging and pleading, I managed to convince the Points Hater to agree to a long weekend in Ireland over Veteran’s day. Luckily, we live in Boston, which meant we could get there with a great value award booking using British Airways Avios.
A Weekend at Martha’s
I’ve been pretty busy at work lately, so haven’t had much of a chance to post, but I wanted to put a few pictures up from my family’s recent trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Living in New England, Martha’s Vineyard is just a short drive away, so we decided to spend Columbus Day weekend there. We rented a house, and the rain held out until the last afternoon, so although we were there for a short time it turned out to be a really relaxing vacation!
Things I learned on my flight to LA
I’m currently in Los Angeles for a wedding. My flight from Boston got in at around 12 AM Pacific Time, but I learned quite a few things on my trip. There were some great things about this trip, and some not so great ones. Here are some quick thoughts.
