When I get the itch to book an award, I generally tend to get pretty obsessive about it. Since my family’s schedule doesn’t allow us to book tickets a few weeks before we travel or less, I’m often stuck booking tickets 11 months in advance (right before travel or super far out are the two best times for award availability, more on that later this week in Part II of my DIY Award Booking guide). Well, my obsession for the last two weeks has been getting my wife, daughter, and myself to Asia and back next Christmas holiday. And that obsession has paid off – in spades!
Italy, Here We Come! (Ready or Not)
Back when I planned the trip a few months ago, going to Italy sounded like a great idea. “Travel before the baby’s mobile!” “She’ll just sleep through the flight!” These are the words that were echoing in my head when I booked the tickets and I thought I felt pretty smart. Well, here we are getting ready to leave this week, and I feel a liiiittle bit nervous about everything.
What’s in my wallet for my upcoming trip?
It’s pretty nerdy of me, but with so many credit cards I need to strategize which cards I’ll bring on any given trip. This is even more important for me when going overseas – certain cards provide advantages over others. Since I’m leaving for Ireland in a couple of days, I thought I’d share my thought process for what’s in my wallet.
