Saverocity is a network of blogs. We are growing slowly and happy to consider new members of the family. If you have an interest in bringing your blog over to us, and writing at Saverocity please reach out to me via email.
What we are looking for
Innovators, free thinkers and interesting people. Saverocity is a site that transcends personal finance and travel and focuses on helping people achieve a certain type of value driven lifestyle. We are not trapped into one frame of thinking, and we like our team to write on whatever is interesting to them on any given day. By being people driven we bring a different flavor to an overcrowded space.
Travel writing is fun, and I would like to see some more of that. But if you are writing a trip report, I care less about photos of a lounge or hotel room, and more about what you did during your stay, and how travel changed you. A thousand people have stayed in that bed in the Park Hyatt Vendome and ordered a Royale with Cheese via room service, sure I can see another, but I would rather hear YOUR voice and YOUR journey.
I’d also like to see much more on the personal finance side, however this space is rammed full of people who don’t know their arse from their elbow. If you find yourself writing good, honest content that just isn’t being heard, I want to listen.
If you don’t have a blog already, but have always wanted to start. Let’s talk.
Why Join Us?
We are not driven by affiliate revenue. We have real jobs. That doesn’t mean the site doesn’t earn money, it means we don’t let it rule us. It takes time to build an ethical website, that focuses on the reader and offers solid content. Going it alone with a strong mindset will get you there too, but coming with us will get you there sooner. When it comes to monetization, all I ask is that you are as transparent as you can be when it comes to placing ads in your blog here.
A blog is an place where you can connect and help people, you can’t do that honestly when you are also trying to fleece them at every turn.
Transparency is everything
In a murky world, we need places of transparency. Here is our basic Blogger agreement:
- Blogger receives 100% (gross) of all affiliate revenue earned from their pages.
- Blogger receives 100% (gross) of Adsense from their pages.
- All hosting, mailing software fees, professional services and development costs are paid by Saverocity.
We wanted to create an environment where joining made more sense across the board. What’s more, if you join and decide to go it alone in the future, all your content is yours to keep, and we will redirect the readers to your new site.
So you get everything you have now, remove all the costs and technical work. Plus you get additional eyeballs on your site from our collected presence. It’s a real win/win.
The reason I am taking a hit right now on hosting is because I truly believe in the collective power of our site. We are working towards accessing new revenue streams that aren’t available to sites with lower pageviews. It is still be a little down the path for us, but it is a goal, and when we reach it I will be sharing that with the bloggers too. So in addition to keeping everything you had previously, you will also get an 80/20 share of new revenue networks. The 20% for Saverocity will be used to keep the servers running, and add even more services and features to the site.
It feels good to be ethical
Writing to push a credit card feels dead and dull. When you have a mindset that you want to do the best thing for the reader first and foremost writing is fun. There is not editorial control, no fear of offending the paymaster, no selling out. Write what you want, and have fun doing it. We aren’t anti-money here, but we aren’t a thin veneer trying to represent card companies or other services and do not try to fit content around conversions.
Helping people with solid content, or just being the voice of reason in a world taken over by commissions is fun, and very empowering. We are looking for writers who are passionate about writing, people who want to help people, and explorers who want to walk a different path.
Cheers,
Matt
