I was alerted this morning to a great new benefit from American Express- free wifi from Boingo for Platinum Holders (Business or Personal). The feature seems somewhat targeted, in that you have to check your card for eligibility, but I believe it is just to test that you are holding the Platinum rather than other versions of the Amex cards
I have heard back from people in The Forum that they have had success with American Express Platinum cards, and we are testing out other cards thus far we have failed with a Business Gold, PRG, Costco Amex and Blue Cash (the good one) please let me know in the comments if you don’t have the Amex Plat and succeed or fail using other cards in the family.

Go to the Boingo Amex Card Check page here, enter your card number
If you are approved, complete 1 page application. If you are denied cry and moan at how unfair life is. If it makes you feel any worse, I was successful this morning using my Amex Platinum Business card.

We’re about to cancel my wife’s platinum card. any idea if we get Boingo access and then cancel the card… will the access last a year or get cut off?
well… there is a rumor that you can get this with a cancelled card after you cancel… shhh
