For those of you who missed me being a sanctimonious little dweeb the other day, check out this post That’s really Eff’d up where I go on to grumble about how kids today don’t know they are born, and how that makes me angrier than a 100 year turtle.
I personally think that a lot of people miss a lot of the real value of travel by living with tunnel vision, going from Plane-Hotel and back again and calling it a vacation. Well, yes they are correct in that it is a vacation, but the joys of travel in my opinion come from a wider level of interaction with the world.
Two esteemed members of the Travel Blogging Community had the audacity to challenge my opinions, and wrote barely half decent replies to them, please check them out here and let me know what you think:
MilesAbound No first class or chain hotels? Eff that! an interesting retort from the King of 5 Star Travel himself, the only frequent traveler that I know who speaks Fluent Maldivian.
Food, Wine and Miles No Matter How You Travel, You’re Probably Missing Out wrote this depressingly titled piece that I think means we should never travel again anywhere, and instead focus on over eating and drinking some good Vino in front of the television.
All kidding aside, these guys are champs, and they raise points that I think are completely correct and valid. Check them out!

Eating and drinking in front of the TV is pretty great. Eating and drinking in front of the TV in a foreign country is marginally better. Eating and drinking while out in a bout in a foreign country is about as good as it gets 🙂
