Next week I’ll be flying out to Vegas to attend TravelCon2. It’s going to be a great event, and I’m really excited to meet up with a lot of the innovators of the game there. The speaker line up is outstanding, but frankly, the real talent is in the room. This is why I always stress that it’s about ‘the networking’.
I’m arriving on Friday afternoon, and plan to use those hours to both catch up on work, write the presentation for Saturday, and enjoy some pool time. By the end of that, at 6pm, I wanted to see if anyone would be around for a drink. I’m staying at Aria (as of today..) so I picked a couple of places near me, and one place that involved schlepping across town.. there’s a poll at the end of the post where you get to pick where we should meet up.

I know that we might get some new people coming who weren’t sure about attending a conference, after all, there’s a lot of crap out there. I wanted to help reward that leap of faith with a giveaway. The prize.. a free ticket!
The tickets for TravelCon2 started at $129 for the early birders (these guys probably went to the first one, so snapped them up) and are now selling for $139.. there’s a couple left which you can get here: Tickets for TravelCon2 I think the final few tickets may increase to $149, but right now I see $139 as available.

- I don’t know what to do about people paying different amounts, so the prize is going to be $150 in CASH MONEY! It’s Vegas Baby!
- You need a valid ticket to be entered into this, you do not need to attend the Friday night drinks (but it will be a blast and you’ll be sorry you missed it). If you aren’t going to be there and vote for Dicks.. I will know who you are, and I will add you to my naughty list.
- Winner will be drawn on Saturday, including those who already bought the ticket, and forgot to read my blog twice a day. If you transfer your ticket between now and then, you give up the prize, it goes to the ticket holder.

I’m really excited to catch up in Vegas, I hear that the organizers of TravelCon are also putting together plans for drinks and dinner on Saturday after the event, and on Sunday there will be a brunch- Scott from Travel Codex indicated he was down for that. Remember, the most important part of any of these gigs is to network and meet up with folk. You can exchange contact info, and build strong relationships that will pay dividends. TravelCon2 isn’t just about a day sitting in a room in Vegas, but meeting new people over the entire weekend, from drinks and maybe a dinner on Friday, right through til Brunch on Sunday.
