There’s a new player in the cashback space, and in a break from the norm, they named it cash forward. My initial analysis is that this is very similar to the 2% cards offered by Citi and Fidelity, with the major difference being that it offers 1.5% instead of 2%. There is also a 5% bonus on redemption, which isn’t as good as it first sounds due to maths.
In an effort to keep the review impartial, I would highly recommend considering the card if you are in the market for 1.5% cash back forward. Especially if it is available via my affiliate links in the future.

Whoa… that’s a lot more in depth than my review which consists of one word: yawn. Impressive!

I try to get into the nitty gritty for you.

Shouldn’t Barclaycard pay you the 1.5% before the actual purchase to make it truly *forward*?
Matt says
That’s a good idea. You should work for them, or for Hyatt since they likely fired their last loyalty program manager.

On a more serious note, this is probably a good card to downgrade to if barclay won’t waive fee on arrival.

Maybe- but they just shut down a sock drawer card of mine and I can’t see me ever using this one….

Ah! Pesky maths and logic always getting in the way of those darn affiliate links!
