Today only code “GET20” for 20% off up to 3 times, on any local Groupon deal. DC Locals, here’s a fun one: ICE! Discount Tickets at the National Harbor. You know you’re probably going to ICE National Harbor anyway so might as well save when you can!
You’ll want to grab discount tickets to ICE National Harbor now as they aren’t available much past Thanksgiving. In high season they’re happy to let you pay full price. Note you have to buy tickets for a certain date when you check out and some dates are already sold out. Prices vary from $20 to $25 according to date- you’ll pay $41 at the gate.
If you haven’t been to ICE yet, it’s great fun. The kids can careen down ice slides while wearing a down parka, but I prefer the sculpture displays- including cars you can sit in and life size buildings. It has to be seen to be believed.
Details about ICE National Harbor
Explore the world at 9° at ICE! featuring Christmas Around the World at Gaylord National Resort. The indoor attraction boasts colorful ice sculptures carved from two million pounds of ice, showcasing cultural holiday traditions from the United Kingdom, Germany, and more. Guests donning blue parkas are welcome to climb and zip down two-story ice slides, and enjoy views of an enchanting Parade of Toys and larger-than-life ornament displays. Visitors can also travel to the North Pole to sit inside Santa’s sleigh, and even get a peek at new sculptures in progress with live ice-carving demos by artisans from Harbin, China inside the Frostbite Factory. The experience concludes with a majestic full Nativity in stunning, crystal clear ice.
National Harbor is a really fun place to hang out. Get some Peeps and enjoy the dancing fountains at the Gaylord, then grab lunch at McCormick and Schmick’s for a great day out. Bonus is the weather is nice so the kids can climb on “The Awakening” sculpture collection. (Locals just know it as “Haines Point”, its former location.)
