Giveaway! Win a Weekend at Deal Mommy Fave The Radisson Martinique in NYC!

The Deal Kids enjoy the view from Breakfast.

Winner Chosen. Congrats Matt!

My go to hotel in New York City when folks ask for a recommendation has been The Radisson Martinique on Broadway , right across the street from Macy’s on Herald Square, because it strikes just the right balance between value and luxury.

The Martinique is on the National Historic Registry but recently remodeled so the rooms are spotless. “Historic” is actually an undersell: the hotel was designed by the same architects that built the Empire State Building!  Walking into the hotel feels like walking into an episode of “Boardwalk Empire”. I especially enjoy the details such as the original mosaic flooring and the stainless steel elevators. I have lots of photos of the hotel on my Instagram page.

The rates at The Martinique are on par with more budget minded hotels in the 35-40th street area of Midtown, but I consider the stay experience to be a star above comparably priced hotels.   I  also MUCH prefer the Radisson’s “neighborhood” feel: just south is Koreatown, and you’re facing Broadway directly on top of the Herald Square subway.  Many rooms have views of the Empire State Building as a bonus.

My favorite way to book is via the “Mega Points” rate: just go to the
Radisson Martinique’s
website and select, “best available” then “all rates” and scroll down. The “mega points” rate for $20 over best available was for every single night on their calendar in the next year last time I checked! What makes the rate so amazing is that the 10K bonus points are PER NIGHT, NOT PER STAY. I basically count the deal as a $33 discount every night.

So, to recap, The Martinique is definitely a DO for paid stays in NYC, especially with all of the amazing points promos going around. If you have the Club Carlson credit card, at 50K for 2 nights, it’s a steal!

The management of The Martinique noticed how much I love their hotel and recently invited me and Deal Girl back to see some of the recent improvements, such as the club level.  Their club on the 17th floor was just updated with a fancy coffee machine and lite snacks.  Even better, they are offering you a chance to come see for yourself!

Here are the prize details:

2 night stay before April 2015 – (blackout dates apply)
Breakfast for 2 each morning at The Martinique Breakfast Buffet
Welcome Drinks for 2 at the Martinique Café

Total Prize Retail: $979

My perfect weekend in New York: walk the highline, brunch with unlimited mimosas, shopping in soho, rooftop cocktails to finish it off.

  2. Kim

My perfect weekend would be a quick getaway with my hubby for some much needed us time. This would include drinks and a Broadway show since I have never been to one.

My ideal NYC trip would include taking in the sights and shopping, with someone familiar with where to go and whet to see. [cough . . . cough . . . Deal Mommy] 😉

  4. Pat

My favorite weekend is finding a street fair and trying all the different foods, grabbing last minute tickets to a play and dinner at Patzeria.

Take the train from DC, see a show, get up have breakfast at Alice’s Tea Cup, then a walk through Central Park, a little shopping then home on the train.

I would love to win this, as my parents will be staying in NYC in June. My ideal weekend for them would be not get lost and killed, as they speak no English! 🙂

My perfect NYC weekend is in the spring with a walk in Central Park, tea at the plaza, meandering through the modern, dinner in the village at a funky ethnic dive, and the drinks anywhere near the river!

Love this! My fingers are crossed! Any chance to stay in NYC is a great one… but this place looks AWESOME. And we’ve been planning to go back soon for a show, visit with family and maybe even a return to the Empire State Building for the kiddo. Thanks Dia!

My perfect NYC weekend would be to eat my way through each neighborhood. So many fabulous restaurants, a weekend is NOT long enough!

  10. Karen

My perfect NY weekend would involve sampling a bunch of hole-in-the-wall restaurants, a dash of window shopping, and an evening catching a broadway show of some kind!

  11. Allie

I have been wanting to take the kids to NYC for a few school breaks now. With the snow, things got messed up, but I am looking at fall break 2014! I want to take them to Ellis Island, the Empire State building and at least 1 show. Can’t wait!

I would LOVE to spend the day exploring Chinatown and Little Italy with the kids topped off with a dinner picnic in Central park. #DREAM

My perfect weekend in NYC is spent seeing friends, eating at Shake Shack, walking in Central Park, and either seeing a great concert or a show. Even though I’m originally from Northern New Jersey, it’s fun being a tourist sometimes!

  14. Candace

My perfect weekend in NYC is to have a relaxing evening by having dinner or near the hotel and maybe a glass of wine, then the next day I would take on Central Park and do some shopping on 5th Avenue, followed by a quick dinner and a fun show on Broadway. Sunday morning would be a nice walk with a good cup of New York coffee and a farewell brunch before heading home.

A weekend in NY would be a great opportunity to check out some great restaurants and treat my wife to some nice shopping at Macy’s (her favorite store!) and maybe we could squeeze in a tour of Madison Square Garden. I would also treat her to a Broadway show. Sunday morning we could have breakfast in the room before we check out and return to reality!

I never get tired of spending time in the Big Apple. It’s been awhile since I’ve stayed at the Martinique, but I agree with you that it’s perfectly located. A perfect weekend would include nice weather, a good restaurant and a deal on a show by using the TKTS booth in Duffy Square (just north of Times Square and within the Times Square business district).

  17. Patty

My perfect weekend in NY probably would be one where we had a few activities planned (shows, museums) but still plenty of unscheduled time to explore, preferably in early summer (not too hot yet) or early fall, before it gets busy. That said, the last three times we’ve been there have been for Thanksgiving weekend (twice, for the parade!) and December and all were fantastic times. With these last trips, we’ve done the parade, Museum of Natural History, Central Park (all of it, from the zoo to the castle), Museum of Mathematics, Rockefeller Center/Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall (Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular), Times Square, NY Hall of Science (Queens), Roosevelt Island Tram, S.I. ferry past the Statue of Liberty, and more, and there is still soooooo much to see!

  18. Sara

My ideal weekend in NY would be to go to Times Square, Central Park, catch a Broadway musical, enjoy the food and sites and then enjoy the nightlife with some girlfriends!

  19. Kelcey

Walking around Times Square and Central Park, exploring as much of the city as possible….and of course a couple Broadway shows!

  20. Nicole Vosburgh

My perfect NYC weekend would consist of sleeping in at a hotel with an amazing city view, shopping along 5th avenue, and a walk in Central Park!

  21. Nick

It’s ice skating at Rock Center in the winter and strolling through central park with some snow on the ground. There’s nothing like Christmasime in NYC.
