How did I not know about this weekend extend? I am gold with Carlson and have never heard of it. Thanks for the tip!

2 nights in the Blu for 197 Euro is about all it’s worth. You are a long way from central Paris and the hotel is tired. A roof over your head but not much else. But that sums up just about every Carlson, n’est pas?

      Hi Paul,
I guess my standards are lower than yours, but any safe, clean, room in July in Paris that’s 10 minutes from the Trocadero for under 100 Euro is a win to me. I really liked the Bolougne and would happily stay there again.

I also want to stand up for Club Carlson. Not every hotel needs to be a Park Hyatt. Judge apples to apples, and the CC product shines.

just got here from twitter.. this is awesome.. especially when you need more rooms and have already booked a room with points. I like the 4 for 2 since I don’t want to keep moving hotels

I haven’t been successful in gettign this rate at radisson in vienna and lucerne. So I used citi prestige instead.

It’s pretty sad that many hotels are leaving carlson and this will come to an end.

      Hi Rob,
It’s definitely date dependent- I’ve found it pulling up the rate calendar but not at every property.

That’s the good news- you don’t need it to pay. However, with the bonus on CC spend on property I still might consider the math.

I tried using this promo on a recent trip to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark and could not find any dates on which it would work despite substantial flexibility in my plans. I was traveling during the summer and from reading on various sites about the promo, it only works in less desirable properties or during off peak seasons.

By the way I was not familiar with the stay two, get 10k points promotion. When I tried clicking on your link it did not work for me. Maybe targeted?

      Hi Nick,
That particular one may be expired, but they do new ones of a similar bent all of the time. The Flyertalk thread for Club Carlson is a good place to keep track.
I agree the B2G2 is limited, but I did get it to work at the Paris Blu-Bologne in July. Granted, it’s not the Champs Elysses, but it did the trick.

I’m glad this post resurfaced. I don’t use CC much and thought this died when they killed the B1G1 pts. B1G1 pd night is still working for several dates for the Balkan State properties. I’m using it in August, Oct and Nov.
