Much like United celebrated a few weeks ago, American Airlines is celebrating 90 years of Aviation, tracing their history back to Charles Lindbergh’s transportation of a mailbag from Chicago to St. Louis, flying for Robertson Aircraft Corporation. American traces its heritage back to that flight by Lindbergh on 15 April 1926.

American also put together a little video (Which the twitter team was awesome enough to share a YouTube link of!):

And if that wasn’t enough, Some American Airlines employees also shared birthday wishes:

As an aside, its pretty amazing to me, as I look back at these videos, and see where we were not a century ago, compared to the amazing technology in our skies now. To think that a hundred years ago, it would take a week or more to get across the Atlantic Ocean, and now it can be done in as little as 5 hours, with the right tailwind. Or the fact that we can fly halfway around the world in under a day. It is truly phenomenal.
