The Park Hyatt New York, trip delays, and credit card offers

Now that I’m back and posting more frequently, I’ll publish a somewhat-weekly round-up of all my latest posts. In this edition, I review the Park Hyatt New York, give a few examples of how Chase covered my expenses during flight delays, and share the latest (and greatest) credit card offers.

Full Review: Park Hyatt New York

Park Hyatt New York Bathroom

Step inside the Park Hyatt’s international flagship property with my in-depth review of the Park Hyatt New York. The facilities are spectacular, though some might find the service and cleanliness a bit lacking  – especially compared to other five-star hotels.

Chase Trip Delay Reimbursement

Remember when we talked about how Chase might pay for your hotel, meals, and more when your flight’s delayed? Well, I finally got around to posting a few examples of how this worked for me.

Here’s one where I combined trip delay reimbursement with hotel benefits offered by American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. And here’s another that still got reimbursed in full even though I only paid for a portion of the fare with my Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

As always, you can read my general guide to learn more about whether you’re eligible and what to expect when you file a claim.

Credit Card Offers

In terms of credit card sign-up offers, we found a targeted 70k miles offer with the Chase United Explorer card, as well as a 60k/50k SkyMiles offer with the Delta American Express Platinum/Gold.

You’ll need to enter your MileagePlus number to see if you’re eligible for the United deal, though the Delta sign-up bonus should be available to everyone until July 6.
