Which mLife Property in Vegas? For Freeeee!

Vegas is a trek, but the offer to get over there is pretty tempting so we are looking closer at making it happen. I had an offer that I glanced at that I thought was 4 nights in a suite at Bellagio or Aria, plus $400 in food. Turns out I was off a bit, it is 3 nights, $400 in food, $500 in slotplay.

But then I wondered why I was being offered Excalibur as an option too... turns out that there is two offers in one email:

Then if you click on the more 'rustic' properties available, you get:

Kappao!

The offer is:

3 nights Suite, $500 Free Play (whatever the heck that is) $400 resort credit
  • Bellagio
  • Aria
  • MGM Grand
  • Mandalay Bay
  • Delano
  • Mirage
3 nights Suite, $500 Free Play (whatever the heck that is) $800 resort credit
  • Monte Carlo
  • New York New York
  • Luxor
  • Excalibur
The host I spoke with informed me that the credit must be spend on premises, rather than group wide (i'm not sure this is true though) and we have another $150 or so of each from our last trip.

I spoke with Monte Carlo, they told me it would be the 'Monaco' suite which seems like entry level, 700sqft. I imagine that entry level suites is more likely, especially at the fancier properties.

So, where would you go?

Man...what are you gonna spend $800 on at the Excalibur? I mean I guess you could buy 200 sets of novelty poker chips :p I'd probably go to one of the nicer properties and have a nice meal instead of worrying about buying a bunch of junk to stuff in my suitcase, but that's just me!

It's tricky. I could easily spend more than $550 in 3 nights at Aria or Bellagio on grub, but spending $950 at Monte Carlo would require really buying fancy things..

I'm going for two nights in April, I have to pay the commoners' listed price and I probably won't even get a suite! :D

I would go with the Aria. It's one of my favorites and less crowded than the Bellagio.

If a family trip, Aria. Better room, food, beverage and known host relationship. If alone, maybe Monte Carlo for extra rfb spend amount but I'd still go Aria for better actual rfb.

Resort credit could also, should you be so inclined, cover a couple's massage. Just sayin'.

The benefits go far beyond the massage table.

Anyone going to be in Vegas in summer? I'm going to be an idiot and keep my Hyatt status simply because Asian hotels are awesome. I had an idea which maybe have already done- two people - two rooms - two different hotels - one person stays in one and the other stays in the other. We both get credit for our 'stays' since we alternated paying for that room. As it is, I am embarking on staying at all of the MILFE hotels at the lowest rate over the course of 12 days. Summers are meant for fun.

Does anyone know if the Mlife program is only for the vegas hotels? I just saw that there is an MGM in Sanya, China. Maybe my new vacation spot.

They have a few properties in the US, I have an offer for somewhere in Biloxi and they have broader relationships eg Atlantis, but the program itself is primarily Vegas plus a handful of US properties.

Hi Matt, oops. I forgot to add the crux. Would the non-Las Vegas hotels qualify for Hyatt stays?

Vegas only and Circus Circus is not included.

Have you looked into mattress running at Hyatt places locally? With resort fees, Vegas is at least $50 per night. Locally, cheap Hyatt rates are about $70 and I can sleep at home. 12 days in Vegas where you have to check in/out every day isn't my idea of fun even if you do a no swap room arrangement.

As a thought piece, consider mixing in Amex FHR Delano or Bellagio stays if you do decide on 12 days. $75 breakfast for 2 and $100 resort credit gives some good food and room for the up charge.

I'm a bit of a softy and would find 12 days at Excalibur or Luxor brutal.

I live in Shanghai, too expensive to do mattress runs and I live in a hotel already, thanks to my school. Unfortunately, I don't get any points for it. I figure the fun of it is the exploration of the different hotels and perks. I'm an actual global nomad. No property anywhere. One day... I wasn't thinking of staying in Excalibur or Luxor for a 12 day switch out. More like a start with Luxor and work up the chain. I have already stayed at the Excalibur and hated it. I'll be with another teacher, who loves Vegas, too. Not everyone's cup of tea, but... we all walk to the beat of a different drummer.

Hyatt stays are out of my wheelhouse. I can't afford things like that.
@Matt, and that is why I have a points earning card, oh, and I get a travel fund for summer around $1000.00. I could put it in the bank... but this way, I get to enjoy something I would never do on my own dime. Airfare is MS award travel. Soon, to run out... now that no way to MS in China.

Thanks much, You have saved me time. When the rate is too expensive, I'll hop over to an airbnb or stay with friends.

For weekends when rates are higher, consider mixing in the Hyatt place on points and cash, $55 and 4K points. Also, consider a trip to Los Angeles for a change of place and cheaper weekend rates.

With the summer heat, outside activities are best in the morning.

Just about to pull the trigger on Aria, and received a new offer today:

  • $600 freeslotstuff
  • $300 food
  • 3 nights SkySuites
Decided to ask if they had any UFC 196 tickets to sweeten the pot. Wife thinks I'm crazy, I just think I'm cheeky.

That is cheeky.

Expect to be surrounded by Irish if you get tickets and go. McGregor is the sporting hero of Ireland at the moment.

Basically. I think they come in waves by the quarter but this latest one was a surprise.

I would take the Aria in a heartbeat. I had an offer from MLife awhile back and I took 2 free nights at Aria. When I checked in they were out of the room that I had asked for so they upgraded me to a corner suite. IT WAS AMAZING!

Remote control curtains, tv's in every room, a little thing that squirts your rear after you use the toilet. It was top notch. I doubt I will ever experience that again.

Before that trip, I had an offer with NYNY. I liked the location of the casino and the (pretty standard) room. I don't know if I would pick NYNY just to get the resort credit.

When it comes down to it, that resort credit disapears really quickly and in the end you don't feel like you received $400 worth of goods or services.

I chuckled @ the bidet comment.

I really liked the aria but that's when I started when it was new. I'm returning next month but I fear that I might not enjoy it as much if it has lost its novelty. But then again the other new hotels haven't quite impressed me
