OK, you'd think I'd know this by now but it seems to vary. When you book an award flight using miles from another carrier, can you access your booking on the carrier that is operating the flight?
I thought I was often able to do so but I used LifeMiles to book some TK flights and can only get at them on Avianca site as the ticket numbers and Booking codes are not for TK.
Once I used LifeMiles for AC flights and was never notified of a change of airports, from MDT to PHL! Luckily, I always try to check things out a week or so in advance, caught the change and booked Amtrak to Philly. However AC said my ticket was not good and that AV should have issued a new one with a different number. Fortunately, they did it for us at both airports.
I also used LifeMiles to book a TG flight, but somehow I can get to this one on Thai's site.
Any ideas? I don't want to be stuck in Istanbul.
