What's the best way to start reading Paul Doiron's books?

He seems to have a rather large series of books about Mike Bowen. Can you please tell me which book is best to start with? Do I need to read them in order, or can I skip a few books? Also, maybe someone has some tips on how not to get confused by the chronology of events?

I would advise you to be sure to read them in chronological order. This will give you a deeper understanding of the development of the main character, Mike Bowditch, and allow you to follow how his relationship with those around him changes. Each book has its own unique moments, but they are all connected by a common story, so skipping books or reading them in random order is not something I would recommend. So that you don't have to puzzle over where to start and what the reading order should be, I found a great resource to help guide you. Right here you can find a detailed guide to reading Paul Dwyron's books in the correct order: https://booksrun.com/blog/how-to-read-paul-doiron-books/ . It's really helpful as you can avoid spoilers and consistently immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the series.

Doiron is very attentive to small details, and some moments from earlier books may pop up unexpectedly in later books, giving an extra dimension to the story. So, if you have the opportunity, it's best not to skip the books.
