Vegas DO with MilesToMemories?

He seems like a genuine guy, I'd like to meet him. But a fricken library!?

Vegas does suck for meeting space, we priced it at $12-15K in the past, but if I'm going to Vegas for a DO, I'm looking for a Cowboy steak, a bottle of ridiculously expensive cab, a cirque show, and many other debaucherous things.

Hey you're the one always trying to get us to think out of the box... A library for free - ingenious!!! He may have to whisper the whole time when presenting though.

The DO ends at 5:00. I'm sure there are 5,852 people handing out flyers on the Strip for those activities. Take your pick. :p

It's a good idea for a cheap place for sure, but I'm all about moving away from the stuffy talks, and that's a step in the wrong direction for me. Not to knock him though, just different strokes for different folks.

Tahsir is doing a travelcon in Nov at the MonteCarlo it seems.

I'm still debating the Vegas meetup. Traveling in Sept. is tricky for me due to the Jewish holidays. If I go it will be a last minute decision. And with my son back in town, I may decide to stick around PDX all month.

I hear ya. The stars kind of aligned for me on this one. My son moved his UCLA dorm move-in date to the 18th and I found a cheap WN flight to LAS (points) and a $200 UA flight (AMEX Platinum reimbursement) back from LAS to SMF.

I'd love to go to Tahsir's DO in November too but it's right in the middle of my son's high school water polo playoffs.

How inconsiderate of them.

I know! They didn't consult me first???

You know that kids rule your life... Not sure what we're going to do when the last one leaves the nest. I'll have more time to post pictures of what I cook on the BBQ.

Anyone have info about Tashir's Vegas plans?

If I can find a decent light on SW, I will go to Shawn's in a couple of weeks. I don't need much of an excuse to go to Las Vegas and seeing "library" and "Las Vegas" used in the same sentence definitely qualifies.

I actually considered a library meeting space for a hot minute. No outside catering was a deal killer.

I'll be there. Staying Sat night at Hyatt Place. Out Sun AM.

Anyone interested in lunch on Saturday before the meeting? I'll have a car to take 3-4 to the meeting from the lunch place.

Will also do a run to visit the new Kate.

Also, it is Iheartradio festival weekend so hotels are pretty expensive. Hyatt place is full but courtyard Henderson is about $103.

If going, I'd suggest staying at the Aria or Mandarin. The Monte Carlo isn't very nice.
Yep. But I still remember my days of working trade shows in Las Vegas where I'd pay my own hotel (Excalibur or whatnot). It's a step up from that!

I still stay at the Excalibur for trade shows, my wife knows I'm really going to the show if I stay there. They don't even make donuts at the Krispy Kreme there any more.

I'm a Vegas local and was all set and ready to go.. But I'm kinda getting married that day, so I suppose I have to miss it. If only the wife would understand the importance of MS! I think she will understand once she sees the fruit of my efforts when we honeymoon in Bora Bora in a few weeks.

Kinda getting married makes sense, the question is how married your fiancée is getting?

Most people responded that they wanted a more formal event so I decided to go with the library but hopefully people will meetup afterwards for more fun! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone both next weekend and in November.

Excited to meet some folks on the 19th. I think it'll be a great meeting; huge thanks to Shawn for putting this together!

Shawn and I have talked about a future VegasDo -- http://vegasdo.com

If you want to give feedback on what you would like to see in the future, please take this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YQFWX9P

And if anyone is interested in helping plan something for the future, please also let me know! I have a possible sponsor but I think she is really only interested if it is a big event.

I'm arriving Fri morning 8:20a and leaving either 10a or 5p on Sunday depending on what's going on.
I'll be staying at Hyatt Place both nights. I'm open to any activities :)

Would any of y'all be interested in lunch about noon before the meeting. I'm not a Vegas local but I've always enjoyed the Original Lindo Michoacan on Desert Inn. Being off-strip, Saturday lunch should be easy

If the group would prefer another place, OK by me. Please post if interested.

See you there on Saturday. I'm at the Courtyard on Friday night to burn my free night cert. My departure is about the same as yours also.

If anyone needs a lift from the airport around noon, please let me know.
I just booked a car too for around the same time. Staying at the Excalibur on Saturday and Hyatt Place on Sunday. If anyone wants to bump into me in the elevator, I'll make myself available for anyone not named Matt. :D

@Bill A @Afam-DFW I'm in for Mexican food! I arrive at 11:40 on WN from LAX but need to get my rental.

It worked out awesome for us. I was already flying in to see Seinfeld that night. This will help me from losing all my money during the afternoon before the show. Bummed I can't hang out more though. Flying in, getting a car to the library then straight to Seinfeld after. Flying back out early Sunday morning - God bless having tons of miles to be able to do stuff like this though. :)
