TSA Profiling after Cuba visit

Call me paranoid.

Ever since we travelled to Cuba last winter (before Trump inauguration), our checked luggage gets inspected by TSA nearly 100% of the time. My husband and I have Global Entry so we feel like we've been pre-scrutinized by the State Department.

Isn't checked luggage inspections supposed to be random, rather than targeted? We've never attempted to bring in anything illegal or undeclared so it's not like we're paying for past mistakes.

Is happening to anyone else?

Global Entry is by CBP not State Dept

It seems odd that TSA would care that you traveled to Cuba they care about if you take anything dangerous on the plane

I know they fall into different governmental departments. It just seems weird that my luggage consistently getting flagged for inspection.
