Joe... Now this I can relate to! Strangely enough I dove head first into travel hacking after our third child but I can relate to the challenges. Granted all of our travels have been domestic, and the biggest hurdle is hotels. We will be taking our first cruise as a family this spring, and got a great deal, even though we had to book two rooms. Spent 8 nights at Disney last spring, the grandparents came with us so one of the kids stayed in their room. I've learned that for domestic travel, Southwest is your best friend, and Embassy Suites are worth far more than what they charge. Where I'm struggling is international travel. I'm starting to plan a Costa Rica trip for summer 2019 (yes, I know that's a ways away) and I'd love to get to China. But the thought of crossing the globe in coach on an overnight with three kids sounds awful. Business class would work, but would also run (as you mentioned) 700,000 United points! Yikes. I also love Disney and know quite a few tips and tricks... PM me if you're interested.
