Southwest Cancellation

My brother and his wife had a flight canceled by Southwest. He tried to get through to customer service but it said 70 minutes wait so he was forced to rebook online at a (much) higher fare. Shouldn’t they honor his original fare rather than charge him the difference?

So far, all they will do is refund the original fare. How should he proceed? Had he not rebooked on his own, he would not have gotten on the flight.

Have your brother use Twitter to contact SWA about the problem through direct messaging. Customer service there has a good response time, and I've received very good results going that route.

That’s what I thought and it worked. Thanks!
