I'm planning a family trip to SE Asia and Australia for next year and wondering if there are any routing suggestions to maximize the value from the (anticipated) award flights.
The airports involved are:
SFO/LAX (start)
DPS (destination)
MNL (destination)
CNX (destination)
HBA (destination)
SYD (destination)
SIN (destination, maybe...for a quick overnight to revisit some favorites)
SFO/LAX (end)
I can play around with the order of the destinations, but a couple factors I'm considering are:
* HBA near the end, since the weather should be better when the trip happens
* CNX before that, to take advantage of TG BKK-SYD before the UA F award goes up
Lots of UA, AA, and UR to use for this, for 3 F/J tickets. Some/all of the intra-region flights might just be done as paid. I'm initially thinking of CX for outbound, and KE for the return, since sample dates have decent availability so far. When I first stared at this it looked like a bunch of one-ways, but I'm hoping for some ways to stretch the miles.
