Recommendations for Nile River Cruises

Hello old friends. I'm not expecting many of you to still be around, but I'll also post this query elsewhere.

I'm not a big fan of cruising, yet the recent FM-inspired hubbub has be still chasing a "free" cruise (unlikely to really happen - it has to be a cruise I actually want to take! Looking for something in 2024 now). But it also inspired me/us to pay for one this fall (Greek Islands).

But, what we want to do SOON (next 2 years, likely Spring 2025) is cruise the Nile River. My research is well underway but the options are overwhelming. I've toyed with Viking and AMA, but the prices seem, well, very high end and at least mixed reviews for one of these. I see many midrange-priced cruises, and the fact is, too many options.

Who's taken a Nile River cruise? Would you recommend it? Or warn me about it??

TIA.

You are correct, this place is a ghost town now. I only pop in when I notice the bookmark and am bored. No idea on a river cruise. Most people I know do Viking but typically in Europe.
Have fun on your Greek Islands big cruise. We just went to Santorini and Athens at the end of May and enjoyed that. Said while we were there that a cruise around the Mediterranean would sure be a cool thing to do.

I think 2025 will be coming soon, A Nile River cruise does seem like a really cool experience https://eatsleepbreathetravel.com/egypt-nile-cruise/ you could check this blog about best way to experience Nile cruise, but before going to Egypt please do check the Egypt travel advisory like this https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Egypt.html knowing what's going on outside near Egypt... and if you plan on getting off board I recommend you to get hire a guide for safety purposes they know better there you could try checking this out also https://gowithguide.com/egypt . But I hope you have fun going there and smooth cruising!

I love traveling but have never taken a cruise, though I really want to. The idea of cruising the Nile River sounds amazing! From what I've heard, it can be a fantastic experience, but it's important to do thorough research. Checking reviews is important, especially since you've mentioned mixed reviews for some high-end options like Viking and AMA, apply to whitetail resort customer service. There are many midrange-priced cruises that might offer a great balance of cost and experience.

A Nile River cruise sounds like a wonderful adventure! While Viking and AMA Waterways offer luxurious experiences, their high prices can be a bit daunting, and reviews are sometimes mixed depending on specific cruises and itineraries. However, there are plenty of midrange options that balance cost and experience.

Wow. I occasionally pop in hoping for new activity. And there is some! Some! These forums used to be hopping and vibrant.

I participate in various forums and am not satisfied with the current ones. So I searched for other forums and have a small list. This popped up on page 2 so I checked. Here I am.

Where do people go these days to have great discussions? I'm already tired of FB and its lack of categories; just one big forum and too hard to narrow in on good stuff. But I keep trying. FlyerTalk is ok, but a bit brutal at times. Not for friendly banter IMO ... but I'll look again in desperation. I may poke reddit, but that almost at the other end with too many forums and TMI.

ANYWAY. To the thread at hand. I did find someone organizing a small group tour of Egypt (9 people total). Jan 2024 (I made it work). 4 nights on the Nile on a smaller sailing boat (upstream, so mostly pulled by tugs, but smooth and enjoyable). Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and areas around and between. We saw so much and enjoyed it immensely at half the price of a Viking. While I just blasted FB forums, this is where I found the group we went tith and I'm so glad I did.
