I held off merging accounts from the US Airways acquisition, creating two accounts with AAdvantage. I do think that there are some aadvantages to having two accounts, but for those of you who wish to merge, you can do so easily online:
*Note - the new AA account created from US Airways miles was not considered a mile expiry extension event - IE I have miles in the new account that will expire in Aug 2015.
I received a notification that it might take up to 24hrs to merge - I'd recommend holding off until then to make sure that this method did not create any undesired results.
