Just booked South America

Flights are being a right PITA to lock in. I see 7 seats in J on LAN.. but need 10K AA to post, pushed a SPG transfer to help that.
Finally found DeltaOne on the return from GRU.. transferred from his and hers MR (instant) and waiting for them to call me back to get the only 3 seats..

What line is this and what time of the year? I go to Santiago a lot and this cruise is on my list of things I want to do one of these times. Looks amazing. You know those SPG points won't show up in AA for longer from now than you probably need, right? Or is that what you just booked on Delta?

It's on the 16th... we just went for it.

Yeah.. those AA points worry me. I've got 50K in the mrs Account, 50K pending from an citi card, 90K in mine..and that transfer. I'd really like the look of 3 seats on LAN. I'm considering asking AA to loan me, or citi to expedite or something..

My husband has too many AA miles also: over 300K and I have over 200K, even though I most of mine fairly recently. LAN is hard to get availability.

We are planning to go next December too. We also chose NCL Sun with the same itinerary. Our plan is to book the flight first and them book the cruise in Oct or Nov next year. I have been watching the price. It seems to drop significantly when the date is approaching. Would love to hear your trip report.

I really want to go on this one also... the offers I am getting from Casinos at Sea always say South America is excluded from the free cruise offer. Did you get a free offer for this one, or a good discount? I also want to do the Baltic Capitals one and that one is excluded too... I am overdue for a cruise!

There's a couple of different offer streams. If you leverage this you can book more than one at a time. For example, we are also booked on the Epic 11 day from BCN, that was the 'up to 11 days, no Baltic Capitals etc' but in tandem I had offers for a crappy 7 day slot tournament or BJ tournament. In addition to these two there was a third based on play.

The offer for South America was based on play from the Escape, which was based on play/an offer/I forget.. I tend to have 2-3 booked at any time right now.

Price for South America was about $1800 for an oceanview. Taxes and fees were higher than usual. Third guest free applies also to the upgrade price to go to Balcony/minisuite. Balcony was $2500ish, Minisuite $2900.

Good score on this one. Hope flights work out. You should be able to get three seats in economy if nothing else.

This is my dream destination. I noticed this year when I was looking for a last minute Caribbean booking that there were also last minute South America bookings. Might try to do it next year.
