JFK-LHR Seat/Aircraft ?

Now that AA has opened up tons of seats to Europe I have an opportunity to swap our flights.

JFK-LHR choice between:

Business Class
AA Flight 100 on 77W (5 hr layover) leaving at 6:15pm -currently booked on
or
AA Flight 106 on a 772 (3 hr layover) leaving at 8:15pm

I would normally jump on the opportunity to swap to a less layover but wondering if the aircraft, in this case, should be part of the reasoning. I'd like the experience of a "better" aircraft but not sure it makes that much of a difference when it's an overnight flight.

Our second leg is on BA business and is three hours.

Thanks for any input

Just getting to know AA aircraft myself, but I've experienced both the 1-2-1 and the 2-3-2 layouts in the past month. I didn't mind the 2-3-2 (better than economy), but my wife hated the angle flat. Refused to ever let me book it again (partly since they don't even have plug-ins...) Their new biz seats in 1-2-1 are wonderful, possibly the best sleep I've had in a biz class seat.

Also note, AA is notorious for switching out aircraft, and there really is nothing you can do once they do it.

Given the flight time, I'd rather leave later in the day. It's a short enough flight where I'd want to maximize my sleep and there's no way I'd be able to fall asleep shortly after 6:15.
