Israel before UAE

I have heard mixed reports on this one. It was once prevailing wisdom that if you visited Israel the UAR and other Arab countries would not let you in.

I have a flight from DXB-JFK and will be doing some traveling before then. SInce we will sort of be "in the neighborhood" my wife and I thought it might be nice to visit Israel which we have not yet done.

My problem is that we have to be able to enter UAE for the flight. I have heard that Israel no longer stamps passports but will that make it certain that I can get into Dubai? I realize I will have to fly from somewhere other than Israel but I figure that can work.

I assume you mean UAE.

On an American passport? Should be fine even if you do get an Israeli stamp.

It should not be an issue. I traveled to the UAE, Turkey, and Jordan this summer after traveling to Israel for a month long period. Israel doesn't stamp U.S. passports, rather they give you a piece of paper that goes into your passport, while in Israel.

OK Next question. If I do choose to go to Israel. What would be a good way to return to UAE? I was thinking I would spend a day(or 2) in some country from where I caould then hop back to DBX.

Fly to Istanbul. Everything is cheap there now. On you way back fly Turkish Bus. and stop by there Bus Lounge. Amazing!

And DO NOT LOSE this piece of paper. Israelis will check it on your departure, and sometimes they check it at hotels.
