I wrote Hilton to see if they would match hubs to Hyatt Plat for Diamond status. While I already have it, and it won't make much difference since we travel together, it does make booking easier. Some of the hotels in EU are under his name. I was trying to book the first night with my Diamond and his to follow. Anyway, I got this letter back.
Dear Mr. .....,
Thank you for your reply.
The tier match campaign was launched with the intent to reach out to customers, such as you, who are frequent travelers with other hotel brand but are willing to switch over to Hilton portfolio brands. Given your considerable volume of your travel and to maintain the integrity of the program, any extension of the tier would be solely based on eligibility per our program standards (for Diamond tier- you are required 30 stays/ 60 nights or 120k base points).
We want to thank your continuous loyalty and understanding and hope to welcome you at our Hilton portfolio of Brands.

I was in a snarky mood and wrote back, "So because I have booked stays with Hilton, I'm not eligible to be matched to my Hyatt Plat status? However, I can cancel those stays, book with Hyatt and then be eligible for a match? "
I just got this response:
Thank you for your reply.
