We're looking at doing a flight and hotel package as this seems a good way to use up SPG points and earn a good stash of miles.
Any worthwhile Cat 7-9 in the Caribbean/Central America to spend a week at the beach and get away from winter? Looks like the Marriott Cayman Islands is nice but has steep resort fees.
Also some nice looking properties in Costa Rica. We enjoy scuba diving and hiking (or just napping the afternoon away under a palm tree) and prefer smaller, noncrowded properties. And, of course not being milked with fees or $10 Budlight. Being near a town so one is not entirely reliant on hotel fare would be a plus, too.
Does anyone have suggestions/favorites?
