First flight on Southwest – lessons learned and tips

That is, if I can't find something overall better, and I will be trying hard.</p><p></p><p>Another good place IMO to use the Early Bird check-in option? For the return leg of a trip so you don't have to remember to check in at a specific time from a mobile device while enjoying your last day of the trip. Checking in gets a bit more complex when dealing with a CP as each ticket is a separate ref# and you have to actually check in 2 individual reservations as quickly as possible. If I am sitting on my big PCs at home or at work, no problem. From my phone or tablet? I'll pass.</p><p></p><p>And sure, you can experience a lot of great people on SW flights. But just like outside of the plane, the world has a great deal of jerks, and they fly too. The occasional seat neighbor who believes both armrests are for them? That's just a personal nit. We've had no super terrible experiences, and most folks are ok. But not always. </p><p></p><p>Finally, yes, bring your own food. Those tiny bags of peanuts are NOT a snack. Peanuts and pretzels?
