Extra free room on reservation?

Feb 3rd: Booked 1 room with 2 adults for a 3 night stay with 2 queen beds. Email confirmation shows same

Feb 3rd: Applied diamond suite to above reservation. Email confirmation still shows 1 room for 2 adults.

Went online yesteray to see if I could modify the reservation to 4 adults and noticed that it now looked like there were 2 rooms for 3 adults.

Since I was not able to modify the reservation online, I had Hyatt modify the reservation. I received another email confirmation showing the following (bolding and red coloring is mine):

Hyatt emails about reservations I have always found as unbelievably confusing and frankly, just plain inaccurate. I would assume what you booked is what you have and that any emails that are misleading are most likely incorrect. Call to verify but don't expect the follow email to necessarily be better if there even is one.

I had this on my reservation before for a DSU booking and I was confused too. Turns out that it's because the suite is a 2 room suite with 2 separate entrances. Therefore, in the system, 2 showed up like 2 rooms.

This was for 2 suites on 1 reservation. 1 room was upgraded to a higher level suite than the other.

Hyatt seems to have glitches somewhere in its reservation system. I had a 7-day stay (25000 points per night). The points were never deducted from my Hyatt account. It's been a year.

I had a similar lucky glitch. We stayed as 1 night using our annual free-night certificate and then months later, just before it would have expired, I noticed that the free-night certificate was still sitting in my account. We zipped over to Savannah for the weeked days away from the expiration date and had a fabulous night at the Andaz Savannah.

This happened 3 years ago. No repeat since. Sigh.
