FOr reasons known only to myself, I wound up using the sale on Qatar to book RT JFK-(DOH)-SIN. My real trip is South Africa and I discovered Maldives as a nice 2 days in between but now have to get from MLE-CPT.
EK has a decent connecting flight but I think we need Business. My 3 options are: Cash $2800, Miles 95K or take chance on Economy cash $1600 with upgrade at 55,250.
My inclination is just to pay cash as the upgrade would cost .029/mile as would just miles, which I don't even have just yet. AS has no availability and KE would require RT so it's my inclination to just pay.
Have I missed anything?
