Driving in Bali

Ill be leaving for Bali for the week tomorrow and will be renting a scooter/motorcycle in Ubud for the entire stay. Any tips or advice on driving in Bali? Peoples blogs make it seem like a death sentence but I have found most of that information is exaggerated.

I suppose it's too late to give you any advice.
Instead, I'd like to know how your trip went.

I was in Bali for about a month this summer.
What areas did you see? Did you ever go to Singaraja? That was my favorite part of the whole island.

How did the driving work out?
I used a motorbike for a day, before being bumped from the side by a car. I never tried to drive one again.

Did you ever use the bemo(sp?) system?
They are like public buses, but they look like minivans.

Did you do hostels, home stays, hotels, or couch surfing?
