I'm sure I don't have the terminology correct, but a reminder about how to save on Delta's dynamically-priced domestic award tickets. We need to go to Detroit from SF. The cheapest non-stop was 16,500, but flying the same flight to Philadelphia with a stop in Detroit was only 9,500. So we booked two one-way tickets to Philadelphia, and will step off in Detroit (with carry-on bags only). Flying Southwest back so don't have to worry about the return itinerary. It looked like you could do the same for other cities that are expensive non-stop (like MSP, ATL), but much less as connections.
