Delaying Companion Pass use

Has anyone heard any cases or stories of Southwest offering a CP rain check?

I have a friend that I helped get the CP in September 2014, and a few weeks after getting it found out they're pregnant. The few trips the thought they would be able to take are now off the table. Which made me wonder if anyone has ever asked, and been given, the companion pass for a future year. TIA

All you can do is ask. I am sure I have seen this written about somewhere, but I no longer recall where or what the result was. And for the record, not everyone who is pregnant can technically still travel, and no one can travel during the entire pregnancy, so it is worth checking.

Being that the minimum time that you can use a CP is 12 months and the maximum is 24 months, I doubt very much that they will consider a rain check. Even if pregnant there are still at least 3 "usable" months left technically.

Let us know how it goes...
