(Cross-post) Ritz-Carlton CC and fee reimbursements - what works and what doesn't?

This seems to apply equally to both the Ritz/Marriott program here in hotels as well as over under credit cards.
I'm hoping to get a consolidated list going (over there) of what works and what doesn't.
