Contact Carlson to open up award space?

I read somewhere about calling Carlson to open up award space. I would like to use our two global e-certs (+ a stash of points) at the Radisson Blu in Reykjavik in July, but only the full fare shows up and the e-cert/points are not available for booking until September.

Somewhere I read some time ago that calling the hotel (or Carlson?) to remind them to open award space works? What is a good way to remind them that their T&C specify no blackout dates?

Thanks!

Raddy NYC opened up space for me after I called. I just reminded them that the corporate program specifically says no blackout dates. I was only Silver. This was a few years ago.

Calling Carlson probably works too. Actually it's good for them to be aware this is going on.

Last year, I called Corporate to request this - they then contacted the hotel (in Ireland) who agreed and they put in my booking, probably 24 hours for the whole process.

No Blackout Dates doesn't necessarily equal always having award space available 100% of the time if a cash room is available. They may make 20% of the rooms available for point space, for example. To me no blackout dates, means there is no night where 0% of the rooms are available for points.
