THE GIST: If you held a credit card issued by Chase Bank USA and your rewards points were forfeited upon the closure of your credit card account since June 2009, and you were not given a chance to redeem your points after the credit card account was closed, you may be entitled to benefits from the Chase class action settlement.

The Chase defendants deny the allegations but agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid the cost and uncertainty of trial.

If you would like to exclude yourself from or object to the Chase rewards class action settlement, you must do so no later than Feb. 15, 2017.

That deadline is inconsequential to anyone who wants to join the settlement. It is only for people who specifically want to be excluded. I have never met anyone who went through the steps to exclude themselves formally. You can easily exclude yourself by simply not joining.
