Heading to CA this weekend. Plan was to drive from San Simeon to Carmel. Using our two Hyatt nights in Carmel and have tickets for Hearst Castle. From what I can google, it looks like Rt 1 is still closed just north of San Simeon to Gorda, and then closed from Limekin to Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge.
Is there a "secret" way to get around any of that, or are we just better off taking Route 101 from San Simeon and then head south on Rt 1 to Big Sur?
We made these plans before the closures and decided to go anyway, especially as Hyatt nights expire next week.
