Barcelona in November

My wife and I are heading to Barcelona for 6-7 nights in the first week of November. Does anybody have any recommendations for where in the city tostay (ie geographic areas not specific hotels) and any suggestions for places to eat and stuff to do? Thanks in advance.

Best location for me would be something like El Born, near the Gothic Quarter. There's also a W hotel that looks nice that is nearish that. Anything on Diagonal is fine, but a little more 'out of it'.

Do eat a lot and see Gaudi.

Eat at Ciutat Comtal. It's always busy and that is what you want. Wait for a table. Have a drink, relax and enjoy the experience. Stuff to do? Overload on Gaudi. Go to the central food market. Go to the beach and have seafood paella at one of the small places while there. Take a day trip to Andorra or Tarragona. Like most large cities there are lots of possible places to stay. There is good public transport and taxis are cheap.
