I am currently looking into this as well. If you're not 100% fixed on sixt, it seems like some of the meta search engines such as mietwagen24.de lead to good results.

Alternatively you could check out the rates for AARP members. You don't have to be retired. A membership is just 16 USD and everyone can join. They seem to have some discount codes that might be interesting.
