Boy that earlier ebay deal went fast. Sorry if you didn’t see it in time. Here’s another one for you to consider again from Slickdeals.

Best buy discounted gift cards are pretty hard to find. You don’t see them on ebay that often, in fact many times Best Buy gift cards retail for above the loaded value (especially when they do targeted 4x ebay points promos).

One reason is that Best Buy pricing is pretty competive, it’s not the Kohls or JC Penney mark it up 400% and make customers jump through hoops to get 75% off and some crappy store currency. And unlike Sears/Kmart where a point = 1/10 of a cent, with Best Buy it equals 2.5 cents.

So today Best Buy via Cashstar is offering a $15 savings certificate per $150 egift card. Now, that’s tricky, it looks like a 15% discount but it’s really only 13%.

It’s limited to two orders per customer, and there is a $500 limit per order while the $15 savings code is generated for each multiple of $150. So to maximize, place two separate orders of $450 each and you should get 3 $15 vouchers for each order, so $900 plus $150 in vouchers.

Full Promotion Terms & Conditions

  • Buy a $150 Best Buy e-gift card and receive a $15 promotional savings code.
  • To qualify for the promotion, you must buy at least one eGift Card valued at $150 (e.g. purchasing one $100 and one $50 for a grand total purchase of $150 will not qualify for the savings code).
  • Promotion is limited to two qualified orders per customer.
  • The Savings Code is PROMOTIONAL and has No Cash Value.
  • Redeem the Best Buy Savings Code on your next in-store or online purchase. Savings codes expire JULY 12, 2015
  • By making this purchase, you acknowledge and agree that the $15 savings code will be delivered to the email address you enter as the “purchaser’s email address” by Best Buy’s agent, CashStar.
  • Offer valid for eligible purchases from June 14, 2015 at 3am ET to June 22 at 3 am ET.
Let’s Lever it Up to 18%+

At checkout, there is an option to enter your Best Buy member ID, where it says it will give you one point for every dollar loaded:

That’s like an extra 2.5%!

And let’s add it a portal bonus (TopCashBack at 1%, I tried Simply Best for 2% but the landing page was a Landry’s restaurants), and lets assume you get 2% back on you credit card (yes Amex gift cards do work).

Add it up and you’ve got 18% in savings / cashback, etc.

Cost of Gift Cards 900
Bonus epromo certs 150
BBY Rewards 22.5
Topcash back 9
Your Credit Card (2%) 18
Net Proceeds 1099.5
Net discount -18.1%

Now 18% is pretty good, but remember, you will get more benefits when you buy stuff. Lets make it simple and say you buy $1050 worth of stuff, use the $150 in savings certs for a $900 net price. You will get another 2.5% in BBY rewards for 20.5% total.

And let’s not forget the portal bonus if you buy online…. 5% Discover Deals means another $45 bucks, which doubles after a year (Or you could get an extra 3 AA miles from their portal, assuming you are the type who likes to buy miles at 3.33 cents per mile)

Adding these additional discounts together….

Additional BBY rewards 22.5
Portal Bonus – Discover 45
Portal Bonus – Discover – Doubled 45
Total Benefits 1212
Total Discount 35%

Now hopefully you can find something worth buying there for that kind of discount….
