Topcashback.com is having a flash sale for 2% cash back on American Express gift cards through tomorrow (4/28). While 2% doesn’t sound like a lot, remember it is on top of your cash back or miles card which can make this a good deal for many. Groupon has a coupon offering 10% off on Goods deals. Use top secret code “SALE3″ (ok, it’s on their on-site banner)
Here are ways to make this even better:
- Buy discounted gift cards at Kroger. Kroger is offering $15 off 2 $25 gift cards (see this Doctor Of Credit post). That’s 30% off $50, or another $15 off a larger purchase. Plus you get fuel points, and you can get a category bonus on your card.
- Buy discounted gift cards at a different supermaker / convenience store to maximize your credit card cash back and store loyalty program (e.g., fuel points)
- Buy discounted gift cards at Staples.com (they will probably arrive tomorrow, so you should still be good with the promo). Try a portal for this (AA worked recently)
- Go through a portal to buy the stuff at Groupon (my pick, Alaska at 5x miles)
Heres a few ideas:
- Nexus 7 (of course). $149.99 means $135 after coupon. Amazon is $165
- 3DS XL (new version); $199 means $179 after coupon. Amazon is ~$215
- PS4 The last of us remastered $379 before coupon means $341 after. $399 at Amazon. Not much margin as is, but using a 5% card at Kroger and buying the gift cards would give you another $15 (gift card) plus 5% back (say $20), and then almost 2000 fuel points ($1 off up to 70 gallons in two fill ups),
