Incoming!!! The MOARC is back!! Coming 4/26/15

The MOARC is, of course, the acronym for Mother Of All Rewards Coupons – the 25% back in rewards coupon which pretty much decimates every Staples coupon out there… with the possible exception of the Sniper (remember this one? 50% off clearance computers)

If you’ve never seen a MOARC, here’s what one looks like: (or go to the Staples upcoming ad)

Key terms are

  • It’s storewide and applies to your entire qualifying purchase – no crap volume limits
  • It excludes the really juicy stuff (gift cards, laptops, tablets, HP/Epson Ink, Beats, Kindle, etc)
  • It will apply to other tech stuff (monitors, harddrives, routers, headphones, speakers, cameras, etc)
  • It shouldn’t provide rewards back on computers, tablets, etc, although some people have reported that it has in the past
  • It lasts all the way to 5/2, so you should be able to combine with the epromo cards from this deal..
Here are the entire terms & conditions:

Lever this up to 45.667%+ (no not on computers, that would be too sweet)!

If you purchase the current cashstar deal with a $20 epromo card with your $100 gift card purchase you will be able to get an effective rate of over 41.667% to 45.667%! (16.667% for the epromo card + 25% back in rewards + 1-2% for your credit card, plus 2% potential for going to cashstar through topcashback to get the Staples gift cards)

Of course the 25% rewards is supposed to exclude computers, tablets, laptops, etc. but there’s enough to work with here.

Now lets find some deals…

Here’s a couple that come to mind from the weekly ad:

  • Fellowes Saturn 3i 95 laminator. On sale for $109.99 and Amazon sells for $90.63. Doesn’t sound like a deal? Well, throw in a $60 Mail in rebate (limit 5), and $27.50 in rewards, plus assume you are using the epromo cards. So assume $116 with tax, and that your cost for that is about $96 ($100 for $120 in gift cards/promo cards, and you have $4 left). So… you are out of pocket $96. If you sell on Amazon for $89.99 you would get $68.69 less a few bucks for shipping (say $65 received). Your net cost is thus $31 and you get $87.50 in rewards.,. Not too shabby.
  • Keurig K145 brewer – same concept – $99.99 in store, plus there is a coupon for 25% off a single item in cleaning / breakroom. comes with a $20 gift card via easy rebate. Just assume you get $20 from the epromo card. Hopefully you get the 25% rewards as well. Actually selling for $119 on Amazon – $139 is lowest prime offer
  • Fire HD 7 (8gb) for $99 (on sale from $139, or $119 for 16gb. You probably won’t get the rewards, and cant resell on Amazon, but a nice tablet if you need one
  • Galaxy Tab 4 7″ $179 with $50 MIR – $166 on Amazon – and yes, surprisingly you can sell this as new on Amazon
  • Netgear Nighthawk R7000 – $199.99 with a $20 prepaid card. Haven’t sold these in a while, so I don’t know if they will sic their legal team on you.. but resellers beware if listing as new. Math works well though, with effective 42% discount plus the gift card to offset taxes and Amazon fees. Amazon price is $188.
  • Netgear Nighthawk R8000 – $299.99 with a $30 prepaid card. Same legal concern and mostly the same math as the other Nighthawk. Amazon price is $279.
So go have some fun with this!! Have more ideas? Post below!
