If you can fly out of PHL, DFW, SEA or PDX, you can do this for ~$995 as stated by TFD. But since I fly from a 2nd tier airport, the extra $114 was worth throwing me over the 100k mark to make EXP status next year since my business travel is tapering off at 79k.
I found both RIC->DFW->HKG->CGK and back as well as routings via NRT. Many dates (M-W-TH departures) available through the end of November with 2-4 night stays - the HKG to CGK flights are on CX, and if you route via NRT, JAL - both are AA codeshares.
If you count 2x$1 Credit card spend and EXP Bonus miles, you'll end up with 47,400 miles at 2.34cpm!
