Etihad Guest American Airlines Partner Awards

For the Etihad Guest American Airlines partner award redemptions, can the points be applied to any oneworld partner? Trying to set up a flight from BCN -> JFK -> LAX where the first leg is Iberia and the second leg is AA. Might just bite the bullet and redeem AA off-peak for 2500 more miles.

Etihad has only partnership with American and not with One World. So, you cannot combine AA/Etihad flights with like BA or Iberia. But, you can combine Etihad and AA flights.

Thanks. Was hoping to take advantage of their use of AA's old award chart but AA-only flights rly limits the use.
