Citibank comes up with another targeted offer for being only a credit cardholder. They are offering 30,000 American Airline miles if you open up a checking account with them.
I had thought of opening a checking account before for the 30,000 Thank You points offer, but did not act on it. This offer is quite similar, except for AA miles. On the forums it seems to be that Citi will send you a 1099 form on any rewards for the checking account for tax purposes. Because of that, I am still deciding if I want to play ball with the offer.
Does it have to be a first Citibank checking account, or can you earn the miles for getting an additional Citibank account? Also, I heard a rumor that when signing up for a Citibank account, you can use a credit card to load the new bank account when opening it. Does that still work, and what would the limit be for that?
